What is Stretch Therapy?
Stretch therapy is a hands-on, guided approach to improve flexibility, mobility and overall body function. Using assisted and targeted stretching techniques, we help you move more freely, reduce tension, and feel your best – whether you’re an athlete, deal with chronic tightness, or simply want to support a healthier, more balanced body.
The Benefits

Types of Stretching
Each type serves a different purpose. Here’s a simple guide:
- Dynamic Stretching – Active, controlled movements that gently warm up the body and prepare for activity. Best before exercise. Examples: leg swings, arm circles, walking lunges.
- Static Stretching – Holding a stretch in a comfortable position to lengthen muscles and improve flexibility. Best after activity or during recovery. Hold for 20-60 seconds.
- Assisted Stretching – Guided stretching with a trained professional to safely deepen stretches, improve mobility and target specific areas. Hold for 20-60 seconds.
- Active Stretching – Using your own muscles to move into a stretch and hold position. Hold for 10-30 seconds.
- Passive Stretching – A relaxed stretch held with the help of a partner or therapist (you stay relaxed). Hold for 30-60 seconds.
Stretch Therapy vs. Yoga
Both improve flexibility and body awareness, but stretch therapy is a one-on-one, hands-on experience tailored to your specific needs, goals, and limitations. Yoga is a self-guided practice that combines movement, breath and mindfulness, often in a group setting. Think of stretch therapy as personalized support, while yoga is a holistic practice you can do on your own.
